This didn't happen by chance, it literally took years of experience working with a lot of students in 1 on 1 lessons in order to develop such an effective methodology, that we are completely confident will work for everyone, no matter their current level of skills. The step-by-step process outlined in the course will allow you to start out by practicing the exercises that are 100% adequate for your current level, and improve from there. That's the basic ingredient of any effective methodology, and as you can clearly see from our testimonials, it works pretty well. Most ear training courses or apps out there completely miss this component, and they unintentionally start with exercises that are far too difficult for the average ear training student. That's one of the main reasons why you likely saw little to no results while doing them.

Absolutely yes, the course is specifically designed for people who are starting out with zero skills. This course is based on a gradual step by step path, and it will work amazingly well, independently from your current level.

Thanks to this step-by-step path, every student will be able to start out with exercises that are adequate for their current level (even if they're starting from scratch). This will allow students to see consistent results over time, without feeling stuck or frustrated.

To start out with the course you just need to know what a major scale is, what a major and a minor chord is, and the notes used in western music (A B C D E F G).

This is very basic music theory background that can easily be learned for free, by looking it up on the internet.

It will work amazingly well. Of course, they will need the help of an adult, who will explain the concepts in a language they can understand. The course is based on perceiving and internalizing the sensations and emotions expressed by the musical language, and children are usually very good at that. The adult will only need to guide the child through the simple concepts and exercises, and help them focus on the required task, which is always clearly explained in the video-lessons.

Yes, the course is currently only available in English.

This course is designed for intermediate and beginner level students in particular. In general, if you are a total mess at ear training, this course will completely transform your skills. However, if you're already at an advanced level and you have some problems with very advanced harmonic contexts, such as harmonically complex jazz pieces, including a lot of modulations and "atonal" playing, then this course has not been specifically designed for your needs. Although, I should say, there have been multiple cases of advanced students that have found the course helpful, by establishing which issues were holding them back in the process of developing their skills and solving them. Those issues are usually related to a lack in more basic sub-skills that this course will help you fully master. So, if you're having problems with advanced harmonic contexts, we suggest you make sure that you have all the foundational skills in place, before deciding this course is worthless. If you need help with properly evaluating your current level of skills, we can guide you through a thorough analysis of your current level of skills in the different areas of relative pitch, via a 1 on 1 lesson that you can book on this page.

We suggest you watch the video at the bottom of this page, in which you can find a clear explanation of what's included in the course.

We suggest at least 2 daily practicing sessions of 15 minutes each (30 minutes a day overall), in order to see consistent results and continue being motivated.

You can achieve results even by practicing less than 30 minutes a day, but they’ll come slower.

Lastly, of course, the more you practice the faster you improve.

There is a big difference between Solfege and UseYourEar. We suggest you take a look at this video, where we clearly explain the main differences and the multiple benefits that the UseYourEar method has, compared to Solfege.

In a few words, Solfege isn't a method; it's just a nomenclature system. It doesn't tell you what to practice, when to practice it, how to practice it and what results to expect from it. It doesn't show you a clear step-by-step process to follow in order to get the results.

The UseYourEar method, however, does all of that- it will allow you to understand exactly what to practice, when to practice it, how to practice it and what results to expect from it depending on your current level. The UseYourEar method includes a very clear step-by-step path that will allow you to gradually develop advanced skills, no matter your current level.

It's almost impossible to give an accurate reply to this question, because it depends on a lot of different variables. For example, it depends on the student's initial level of skills in different areas of relative pitch (short-term musical memory, melodic recognition, tonic recognition, tonic retention, chord progressions recognition, etc.), on how accurate the student is in applying the suggested approaches and thought processes when practicing, and many other variables that change a lot from student to student.

There isn't a specific amount of time in which you should complete the course. By subscribing you will gain lifetime access to the course, so you will be able to move forward at your own pace. You can watch the video-lessons whenever you want and as many times as you want.

Almost all students see noticeable results in a matter of 1 or 2 weeks from the start of their consistent practice (for 30 minutes a day, at least). Of course, you need to accurately apply the suggested approaches and thought processes when practicing, otherwise that can seriously undermine the efficiency of your practicing routine.

The numbers refer to the octaves, if you're playing a guitar you can find the C3 on the 3rd fret of the 5th string, C4 is on the 1st fret of the 2nd string, and so on.
